| The plan set consist of two rolled sheets that detail a 1/8 scale, 90" wingspan, Northrop
XB-35 with with landing gear. The builder can decide on glow or electric power and decide on fixed or retractable landing gear. Total weight on the completed aircraft is between 12 and 17 lbs depending on the builder's power plant selection and landing gear choice. Total wing area is 2,186 sq inches. Four .15 to .25 size glow engines will power this aircraft nicely. For electric power, you should choose a motor, prop and battery combination that will produce at least 9 pounds of thrust for scale flight. Once in the air the wing flies great on 1/3 to 1/2 throttle. These plans detail the entire wing, not just one half and all of the ribs. You will not have to pay to have an extra copy of ribs copied at your local copy shop. These are large plans with one sheet almost 100" long and 36" wide and will be shipped rolled in a shipping tube. These plans show both an elevon only version and a version that has both elevons with drag rudders, just like on the full scale XB-35. This is a wonderful flying wing that is a joy to fly. These plans are drawn for builders who have a few kits under their belt. |
