We use precision CNC foam cutting equipment and cut wings with cords up to 32 inches and spans up to 60".  We use white and pink foam (EPS) and EPP foam.

We recommend white EPS foam for wings that will be covered with balsa sheet. Pink foam is more ridged than white foam and it can be used in many applications without sheeting using spars and a low temperature covering or tape. EPP foam is used by combat fliers and is not covered with balsa.

We do not cut blue foam due to its tendency to warp, problems with imbedded dirt in the plank and poor cutting properties.  We highly recommend pink foam as a superior replacement for blue foam.

Feel free to email us a drawing of your wing if you are not sure of the exact specifications. We can also digitize your airfoil if you do not have a DAT file for it. A complete directory of airfoil DAT files can be found at the UIUC Airfoil Coordinates Database.
